The Medical Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing all Clinical Laboratory services. Includes performance of testing, interprets, and correlates clinical laboratory tests by following protocols to assist in physician diagnosis and treatment. Assists with blood bank. Assists in the maintenance of Lab equipment. Is required to provide on-call duties.
Reports: Director of Laboratory Services
Essential Job Duties:
- Performs laboratory testing in an accurate and timely manner by following established protocols in order to assist in the appropriate diagnosis and treatment.
- Interprets and correlates clinical test results with patient history, diagnosis, and clinical condition in order to explain test results (normal/abnormal) so that appropriate action can be taken.
- Complies with OSHA and regulatory requirements by following established procedures in order to maintain a safe laboratory environment and to meet accreditation standards.
- Assists in the process of performing a blood transfusion and is knowledegable in blood banking.
- Maintain departmental records according to established hospital policy and the requirements of all appropriate accreditation agencies.
- Participates in preparation for review by regulatory agencies.
- Assists in maintenance and QC for laboratory machines.
- Participates in proficiency testing program, and meets desired rates.
- Is available for on-call duty.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Associates Degree in Laboratory Science (MLT)
- 2 years experience in high complexity testing laboratory preferred
- MLT or MLS Certification. (ASCP) or equivalent
- 1 year experience in phlebotomy, infant to geriatric preferred
- Basic computer skills
- Must be able to demonstrate appropriate skills as MLT.
Compensation: $25.00 – $33.60 /hr + Sign-on Bonus DOE Housing Stipend available for residents of Grand, Summit and Jackson County.

Status: Full Time perm 12 hour shifts 7 days on, 7 days off
