Job Summary:
Provides primary medical care services including general and preventive medical care for all ages ranging from newborn to geriatric, with exclusion of OB services* except in cases of emergency.
Reports to: Chief Medical Officer
Responsibilities:
- Promotes the mission, vision, and values of Middle Park Health
- Provides primary medical care services including general and preventive medical care for patients of Middle Park Health including but not limited to outpatient clinic, convenience care clinic, and outreach clinics.
- Available to see adult, geriatric, and pediatric patients following any Middle Park Health protocols, policies, or procedures.
- Provides direct patient care including but not limited to:
- Conducting outpatient clinic; establishing patient history through interview; establishes diagnostic impression; manages chronic health problems; initiates arrangements for treatment.
- Makes decisions concerning medical care and the needs of the patient, as well as decisions regarding special needs, following established protocols. In this role, if appropriate, often acts as the medical provider for the more complex cases in order to support NP and PA staff and may delegate more routine cases.
- Performs or requests special screening and developmental tests and interprets the results. Provides patient follow-up, making referrals or consultations to other physicians and/or allied health care professionals when indicated.
- Serves as secondary supervising physician to physician assistants on staff at Middle Park Health and may be assigned by CMO as a primary supervising physician.
- Meeting attendance is expected for All Staff meetings, Med Staff meetings, Provider meetings, pod meetings, and additional meetings as assigned.
- Supports a team-based, integrated health care model including but not limited to behavioral health and dental services.
- As a physician, provides medical expertise for Middle Park Health medical-clinical teams and is expected to provide necessary education or coaching for other team members in a respectful and helpful manner.
- Serves in a teaching capacity in the training and development of other healthcare personnel including students rotating through Middle Park Health clinical sites.
- Participates in provider on-call rotation providing triage services after hours as required.
- Ensures appropriate documentation and maintenance of medical records including use of electronic health records system.
- Assists in provider coverage for time off.
- Participates in Peer Review quarterly and as assigned.
- Supports Middle Park Health in meeting HRSA requirements, designated clinical Quality Measures, and other regulatory requirements.
- Adheres to safety and infection control protocols, policies, and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience/Certification:
- M.D. or D.O. degree required
- Board Certification in a primary care field is required to be current and maintained ongoing, including timely completion of re-certification when indicated.
- Holds and maintains without restrictions a Colorado physician license and DEA license. (Or ability to obtain prior to start date)
- Life Support certification (BLS at minimum).
- Must meet and maintain credentialing and privileging requirements of Middle Park Health.
Compensation: $220,468 + per year DOE
